GUYS IT’S SPRING! Or should I say Fall for those of you on the other side of the hemisphere 😉 Despite the fact that I have SO much assessment due, I’m surprisingly chipper ha. I think it’s because a new month always makes me excited and also, I can’t wait for the weather to start warming up! Anywhooo, I’ve decided to do a monthly favourite because there were so many products I was loving in the month of August and well, it would just be plain rude not to share.
B E A U T Y
Aloe Vera //
Ok, so this first one goes beyond the month of august, it’s actually a lil’ beauty secret I’ve had foreverrrr and that’s using Aloe Vera juice on your skin. Yep, straight from the plant itself! Aloe Vera has been used for medicinal purposes in several cultures for a longggggg time and now clinical research is showing some promising results on Aloe Vera’s benefits. From my own experience, I’ve found it’s great in calming my skin and for healing any cuts and sometimes even blemishes. Ok, so how do you use it? Basically, we have a hundred and one aloe Vera plants at my house (literally ha, they’re everywhere) so all I do is pick off one of the Aloe Vera leaves, open it up and rub the juice onto my skin and then place the rest into a sandwich bag and keep it in the fridge for the next use. Typically my skin will absorbs it within a couple of minutes! Just be careful not to rest it on anything that you don’t want stained because it often leaves a yellow mark!
Neutrogena Body Oil – light sesame formula //
So this one I only discovered a couple of weeks ago and I’m obsessed. Like most other people in the Winter time, I get the driest skin because 1) it’s way too cold to put moisturiser on your body and 2) when you do it makes barely any difference. BUT my skin is now the smoothest it’s ever been after using this oil and it’s not cold on your skin like most cream moisturisers so you actually want to put it on ha (always helps). Also, it smells so freakin’ good. You can either use it once you’ve gotten out of the shower or you can put a little in your bath!
Plunkett’s Pure Vitamin E Lip Oil //
I have this thing where my lips are dry. All. The. Time. To the point where they actually hurt. And it’s been like this for most of my life. Sometimes they’ll be so red that people think I’m wearing lipstick! Anywho, this month it was particularly bad and my lips weren’t responding to any lip balms (I tried Carmex, blistex, paw paw ointment – everything) except for this vitamin E oil. I now don’t go anywhere without it!!
Jojoba Oil //
So this stuff makes for the best makeup remover. Up until this month I had never thought of using oil as a makeup remover but it’s actually the best. It gets off all the makeup without drying your skin or stinging your eyes like a lot of typical makeup removers can. Yay! Have any of you guys tried oils as a makeup remover?! I’ve heard of some people using coconut oil as a makeup remover too but I haven’t tried it myself!
QV Nurturing Night Cream //
Got to love moisturizers that are simple, affordable and actually work! So at the beginning of last month when I was having a lot of cystic breakouts I was using a medicated cream that completely dried out my skin to the point where it was kinda flaky, but I started using this moisturiser every night and within just two days the flakiness was completely gone!

Coyo Vanilla Bean Yoghurt //
This past month I wanted to change up my diet a little bit by adding in probiotics but also decreasing my dairy intake (due to intolerances). So the perfect solution was dairy free yoghurt. The thing is, I have never liked yoghurt. Ever. Yet I absolutely love this yoghurt – I never though I’d see the day ha! I actually look forward to eating it and I usually have it with a whole lot of fresh berries and when I want a treat I add some dark chocolate covered blueberries (AKA my next health fave).
Morlife Dark Chocolate Covered Blueberries //
So I kind of ate them all before I could get a photo ha, sorry guys! They’re just too good. If you want a chocolate treat, this is it. There are very more-ish though… You’ve been warned!
Thinkfood Pumpkin Seed Munch //
Firstly, don’t be put off by the fact that they’re green haha! These pumpkin seed snacks are actually so yum and perfect for when you’re craving something crunchy. I usually stick these in my bag for a snack when I’m out!
So that’s all my August favourites! I hope everyone has a wonderful Fri-yay 🙂 Let me know of your August faves if you have any! xx
