LIFE // Today’s public holiday meant for a long weekend – YAY! This weekend, as well as last weekend, I’ve been with Ryan and his family down the coast, which has meant lots of beach days. And it couldn’t have come at a better time seeing as we were in a heatwave and the temperatures where I live in Brisbane got up to 39 degrees celcius! The photos above were from last weekend when it was just Ryan and I but yesterday we were joined by Ryan’s sister and her husband and their adorable one-year old twins (those of you who follow me on insta have probably seen their cute little faces on my insta stories ). Although I have a lot of work to do I’ve been trying not to let it encroach on my weekends too much – I always struggle with the work/rest balance this time of year. But I’m determined to try and finish the year healthy and strong rather than run down.  Plus, it always feels like the time from October until New Year flies by so I want to be more present for it.

UNI // Seeing as we’re now in October, I’ll be graduated before I know it. On the one hand, I’m pretty excited and on the other hand I’m slightly terrified because it means I have an awful lot to do in a very short amount of time. Eeep! Plus, this whole not knowing what the next year will look like irritates me a little because I like to know exactly what’s happening ha! I’m still not sure if I want to work or do post-grad straight away buuuut I’m putting in my post-grad application this week! Any post-grads out there with words of wisdom feel free to share them 😉

On a brighter note, so far my grades have come back really good, so let’s hope I can keep that up. I have final exams for ALL of my subjects this semester though and they all account for around 50% of my total grade…. And they’re all short answer or essay questions… And they all have hurdles. So it’s going to be an interesting next few weeks!

BLOG // I have a fun little blog feature coming up very soon (hint: it involves yummy recipes) which I can fill you guys in on hopefully in the next week!! I’m also still working on a couple of other projects from earlier this year but I’m not too sure if I’ll be able to finish them during these last few weeks of uni… Perhaps I’ll wait for the Summer break, so I can put all my attention towards uni. I get so impatient with these things, I wish I could work on everything now ha! I may though give you guys a little sneak peek in the form of a freebie so keep your eyes peeled!

OCTOBER GOALS // It’s so easy to become complacent with goals this time of year, but there’s still around 90 days left until the new year – plenty of time to keep working on goals. One habit I really want to adopt in October is to meditate daily! In my physiology studies we’ve been focusing quite a lot on how stress affects the body and let’s just say chronic stress is really not good. If you’re someone that also stresses a tad too much, then why not pick up meditation this month too?! It doesn’t have to be anything crazy, just find somewhere comfortable to sit and focus on your breath for 5 minutes every day 🙂

What are your goals for October?!
