PHOTO DIARY: January Adventures

Guess who’s back?! ME!

For those of you that haven’t been following my adventures on insta, you may have been wondering what I’ve been up to throughout the month of January… In which case, I thought it would be fun to create a little photo diary of all my favourite memories that 2018 has brought so far!

Ok so this was one of many beach trips down the coast with my friend Jade (how gorgeous is she?! Check out her insta here). If my memory serves me correctly, we managed at least one beach trip a week throughout the entire month… Now that’s when you know you’ve had a good summer break! However, on this trip in particular, what was meant to be a relaxing day on the beach didn’t last long thanks to strong winds pelting sand against our bodies and making us feel like human pin cushions. So naturally we had no choice but to ditch the beach which is when we decided to go on a hike to find Cock Rock at Burleigh Heads. And yes, that is the actual name of a place ha! Basically, it’s a large rock that bears resemblance to something insinuated in it’s not-so-subtle name that sticks out from a cliff face overlooking the ocean. Now, because of its popularity across social media, we assumed Cock Rock had a trail leading right to it. Ugh, we were so very wrong. After some trial and error we eventually figured out that you had to go slightly off track and do some serious rock climbing. So, we came back later that week to give it another shot and to our surprise we actually found it! Luckily for me my lanky limbs came in handy but poor Jade had to battle rocks bigger than her haha! Also, I completely underestimated just how high up cock rock was… I never thought I had a fear of heights until we neared the rocks on the edge. Orrrr perhaps it was the relentless winds and uneven rocks putting me on edge lol. Either way, it was much scarier than I anticipated and because of that I was too chicken to walk out to the very edge of Cock Rock, BUT I did manage to stand on it which totally still counts, right?! 😉

Stradbroke Island

Surprise, surprise, another beach day! Except this time, myself and two of my friends went and explored somewhere I had never been before – Stradbroke Island. Seeing as exploring new places is one of my all time favourite things to do, I was completely in my element. So we boarded the water taxi nice and early over to the island and hopped on the bus without having any clue as to where we were headed. We took our chances and got off at a little place called Cylinder beach and oh boy, I am SO glad we did. After a little exploring we stumbled upon the most perfect secluded beach where we spent the rest of the day relaxing, soaking up the sunshine, chilling in the water and taking a tonne of photos ha! Just talking about it makes me want to go back so badly! It’s definitely one of my all-time favourite spots. Also, they let dogs on buses over on the island and I am alllll for it.

Fun fact, we’re ALWAYS accidentally twinning with our outfits haha!

Later that same week myself and Jade had a girls’ weekend away at the Goldcoast which was so much fun. Basically, Jade had won tickets to an event where you’re taken by boat from the Goldcoast to an island where there’s DJ’s playing. How cool, right?! And it just so happened that the island we were dropped off at was Stradbroke Island!

….Oh and I’ve decided I love boats and I totally need one in my future haha.

One of my goals for January was to get out into nature every week and as you can see I most certainly did that! I swear there is nothing more grounding than being in nature. What were your January goals?! My other goals consisted of meditating every day, getting out of my comfort zone, building friendships and learning to go with the flow! And I’m happy to say I totally smashed them 🙂

Ok so those were some of my favourite photos/adventures from January, but honestly there have been SO many other highlights such as fun nights’ out with the girls aaaaand working on a secret little project which I’ll be launching so soon – YAY! And as much as I’ve loved taking some time out, I’m so excited to start posting again. So keep your eyes peeled!

What have been your favourite adventures of 2018 so far?! Let me know in the comments below!
